Vantage Point Farmer’s Market and the Cash Mob

Today at Vantage Point Farmer’s Market

Last weeks market

Last weeks market – First of the year

It has begun….another great year of the Vantage Point Farmer’s Market.

At the first market there were new faces and old friends…many vendors are returning this year to offer their wares and what a wide selection available this year.

In the past there were 2 markets offered…the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays and the Arts and Crafts Fair on Sundays. This year the two are combined to offer a one day a week event that provides shoppers the convenience of a one day shopping trip with the variety of both markets.

Saturday, May 18, the Port Huron Cash Mob group has chosen the market as the site for this week’s Mob event. Not sure what a cash mob is? It is a way for local residents and visitors alike to offer support to local area businesses. What better way to support our area than stopping down to Vantage Point Farmer’s Market and purchasing you spring planting necessities, some new garden or lawn art, a delicious bacon topped cupcake (really! they are wonderful!), or maybe a new picture to hang on your wall at home.

Vantage Point Farmer’s Market, located next to the mouth of the Black River, is a wonderful place to spend any Saturday, but Cash Mob Saturday, May 18, may prove to be the most fun you will have shopping this month!first day at R n R market 006 first day at R n R market 009

Lily's Woodfire Pizza - We come to you (with the best pizza in town!)

Lily’s Woodfire Pizza is quickly become a staple of the Vantage Point Farmer’s Market.  Its the best pizza you could imagine and the reasonable prices make this travelling pizzeria a great idea for parties, festivals, wedding receptions and more.  We are hoping the owners will decide to open a shop here in town and make this delectable pizza available anytime.  Along with Lily’s there were many of the other market favorites on hand today offering their fresh produce, meat products, and fresh flowers.  The Vantage Point Farmer’s Market is truly a modern Port Huron icon. Remember the Farmer’s Market and the Arts and Craft Market will not be taking place this weekend to allow for the fun and excitement of the International Powerboat Races

Along the boardwalk

The Saturday Farmer’s Market at Vantage Point contains a plethora of local treats, farm fresh produce, and unique goods.  From Bison Meat and honey candy to locally grown fruits and vegetables, there is something to please the most finicky palate.  A welcome bonus at the Farmer’s Market every time I go is the friendly people I find there.  Everyone is helpful, friendly and inspiring entrepreneurs.   Featured from today’s market  are Granola, Glass, & More by Cindy Beck; Two Patriots Farms by Chuck and Denise Cline; and the Keller Family Farms.  Hope to see you at the next Vantage Point Farmer’s Market.

Sunshine and cool breezes graced today's market goers

Tuesday’s Farmer’s Market was met with comfortable temperatures, sunshine, and a pleasant breeze off the St. Clair river, a welcome break from the sweltering heat of the last few market days.
